I LOOOOVE your bg and am so glad you detailed how you did it! I am TOTALLY going to try that! Beautiful page and LOVE that you guys took the RV plunge! My parents bought their first RV nearly 8 years ago when Dad retired and they're on their third one and want a bigger one, though they still have their house. They love it and my dad is quickly becoming an RV expert. SO fun and enjoy!
Wow, I love all the techniques you used on this background. Each adds so much dimension. I love the embossed white leaves over everything. You are an artist!
I created the background page from watercolor paper. I thoroughly wet it, sprayed it with a combination of Lindy's Stamp Gang Treasure Island, Heidi Swapp Sweet Mint, and Tim Holtz Chipped Sapphire stain. After those dried, I grabbed a couple of stencils (triangles and dots). I sprayed some Heidi Swapp Gold color shine through the triangles, and flipped it over and stamped the masked parts on the layout. I repeated that process with Tim Holtz Black Soot distress paint. I followed that up with Tim Holtz Picket Fence distress paint through the dot stencil.
When all that was dry, I grabbed a leaf stamp that I found in the impulse bins at M's and stamped a few images in embossing ink, added Ranger Super Fine Detail white embossing powder, and heat embossed the image. I continued with that until I was happy with the sheet.
I trimmed it to 8x8 and saved the trimmings. Any leaf of decent size, I fussy-cut and saved for a future project.
The tag is from a pad I found at TM's - not sure the brand. The wood print papers are from a Recollections Christmas pad, which I have been hording for a short while. The thread is silk embroidery thread dyed with Tim Holtz Vintage Photo distress stain - since I got rid of most of my embroidery thread, I hoard this stuff, too. The other papers have been in my stash for quite a while. I've been hording the light green ones for several years. In fact, I trimmed-out the middle to save as much of that paper as I can. I cut the title with my Cricut using a system font and the slice feature.
About the photo (and the title) My husband and I decided, about a year ago, that we wanted to retire to live full-time in an RV. We know ~zilch~ about RVs. Earlier this month, we purchased a budget-friendly travel trailer so that we could get our feet wet. In the photo, he's been working on preparing it for regular use. This being the southern US, it has to have mud-dauber screens installed, which was what he was working on.
