This is absolutely gorgeous! The photo is a real treasure and you scrapped it beautifully with this kit! (I love the Irish part of it as my dad was a spunky Irish lad!!!!!)
I'm up for Team 1, Week 3 in the March Round Robin at Swirlydoos. The theme is "Going Green", so appropriate for the month of St. Patrick's Day and the beginning of Spring, and the challenge is to Go Green in several ways. Along with including the color green in the layout, we're asked to include some greenery, aka foliage and to use a recycled item. There are some twists, of course, and the first is to see outdoor pictures. We're also challenged to either grunge it up or make a true Swirly style page. The last twist is to dig into our embellishments - chipboards, metals, flowers...
As soon as Kim posted this challenge, I knew that I just had to scrap this photo - 3 of my Darby uncles in 1943. Given the year, Uncle Vinny (dressed in civies) would have been on leave from the Merchant Marines and Uncle Paul (in uniform) would have been on leave from the Army before shipping out to Europe. Uncle Pat was a mere 11 years old and in the 6th grade.
Lots more details (and a few closeups) on my blog http://www.scrappymusings.com/2017/03/luck-o-irish-for-swirlydoos-round-robin.html
