Hidden Journaling:

Over the years my mom has played many different roles: Nurturer, Protector, Teacher, Provider, Disciplinarian, Confident and Friend. But no matter what role she has played, the mom I see has always given her all to me.

The mom I see walked to school one cold February day aggravating her asthma to deliver my Valentines to class. The mom I see stayed up countless nights to be with me and help me with homework before going to her full-time job the next day. The mom I see showed me that the “scary” rides at the amusement park weren’t that scary and made me scream and laugh. The mom I see listened to my boy troubles from first crushes to last heartbreaks. The mom I see stood in line with me for everything imaginable: for autographs, concert tickets, and special events. The mom I see sent me letters daily when I went away to college. The mom I see stood beside me as she gave me away in marriage to the man of my dreams.

The mom I see always answered my questions and listened to my dreams. The mom I see always treated me as her friend not just her daughter. The mom I see gave all of herself so that I could learn and grow and become whatever I wanted. The mom I see gave me her wings so I could soar as high as could be. The mom I see has always given her love endlessly. The mom I see is the best mom that could ever be.
