I like to make a larger base than the one that comes with the Village Dwelling dies so I usually glue 3-6 layers of corrugated cardboard together to make the base. I also usually cut a hole in the bottom so an LED tea light can fit in and provide a little light for the houses. Here is a link to one of the bases I've made: https://withglueandglitter.blogspot.com/2017/05/slippery-slope-count-awaits.html
I went to your blog and saw all the houses you've done...really amazing! I'm just now getting into building little houses with the Alterations dies and really enjoyed all of yours. Was wondering what your use for the bases that they set on?
I used the new Stamper's Anonymous stencils from Tim Holtz that look like stone or slate. It makes a great texture for the little houses. If you want to read more details I've got a little more on my blog - https://paperglitterglue.com/next-textured-house-the-slate-house/
