I'm back after a long health related hiatus and I'm liking your "no frills" motto. While frills can make a page beautiful, creating them can often become and end in itself, making you forget the whole point, which is to archive photographs in a fun and beautiful way. I'm "defrilling" a bit myself and finding it quite liberating....
So, I stopped scrapping last June. I did 3 very basic pages in November, trying to get back into it, but it didn't stick. Six months later, I'm trying again. I did 2 LO's this week. We'll see what happens. I'm embracing a simpler, no frills style, at least for awhile.
Anyway, these are photos from April 2010 at Brookfield Zoo outside Chicago. Journaling says: Cassie and I visited Brookfield Zoo today, but we didn't expect it to be so crowded on a Thursday, even if it was during Spring Break. We ended up only staying for an hour -- being a member makes it easy to change our plans since it doesn't cost us anything to get in or park. At least, I was able to get several photos taken for mini challenges in my Photo of the Day group. We headed back toward home for dinner at Max & Erma's and Miley's movie, The Last Song, instead. It turned out to be a really great day.
I captioned the 5 photos that I used for POD, as well as a couple of the others. I edged the small photos with black Sharpie.
Other products: Alpha: Recollections Sharpie; black cs; white cs
