Ya wanna know something funny? I was out in my Craft Palace yesterday just dinking around with no plans to really pursue making anything when I ran across this picture of my boys back in 2002 at their Uncle Bruce's place and was immediately inspired to start a layout! This came together faster than any project I think I've worked on so far. I found the paper I wanted to use within just a few minutes (something that never happens) and started gathering up trims, my stencil and even came up with the title within a few minutes! I worked on it for about 2 hours yesterday and an hour and a half today and enjoyed putting it together immensely!

I love the picture of my boys, Sam and Dan, in the tire swing with a stem of grass in each of their mouths!

I used Paper Studio's Pixie Stix paper and nearly immediately thought of Gabrielle Pollacco's Mini Moving Vines stencil and decided to just ink it in instead of using texture paste. I LOVE that stencil! I then decided to use the fringe trim and green burlap ribbon. I made or die cut all of the flowers used here as well as the butterflies. The denim flowers and butterfly are extras I had left from my previous layout using Sam's worn out Dickies jeans. Sam is my eldest and is now almost 25! The green burlap flower is from a Tracey Sabella tutorial. The other three remaining flowers are made from TH grunge paper. The teal one I ran through an embossing folder and inked it in with TH Broken China and Peacock Feathers and the other two I glued paper from TH Lost & Found paper stack and then die cut using my Big Shot. The fringe flower is trim I got from Hobby Lobby. The leaf vines were cut from a tissue box! The large butterflies are a Tim Holtz die. I'm sorry I can't recall where I got those green floral glass pieces.
The green burlap and jute trim framing the picture, both came from Walmart. I think the off-white burlap that I made the flower out of came from HL.

Thank you so much for stopping by! I so appreciate your visits!
