Wowzer!.....this is such a fun playful card a boy will adore. You nailed all the features embellishments and the card pull-up. I am absolutely sure he will smile from ear to ear
This is an interactive birthday card for a sweet boy whose birthday is this month. He loves animals so I thought it would be a fun surprise to have the image of all the cute zoo critters hiding behind a sliding panel. To create the slide out panel, I first cut my base square. Along the front edges of the sides and bottom, I added thin pieces of foam tape. I also added 2 small pieces (about 1/4" long) of foam tape along the top edge near each corner. This, along with a strip at the bottom of the polka dot layer that is slightly wider on each side, is what stops the slide out panel from coming out completely when you pull it up. I used my paper trimmer to create the green striped top frame. The sentiment was digi printed. I created the blue sky and green grass background on my center square using a stenciling technique shown in this (http://www.jennifermcguireink.com/2017/05/6-quick-stencil-techniques.html) Jennifer McGuire video. I don’t have any Distress inks so I used Memento Bahama Blue and MFT Sour Apple dye ink instead. The patterned papers, stickers (little zoo keeper, his balloon, the gray surprise sign) and the zoo signs are all from Doodlebug design. I hope this card brings a smile to the birthday boy’s face.
