another layout for nsd made using co-ordinating pink and green papers. i used some scrap paper to make a template for the mat shape of the inner paper. once cut i used a black gel pen and drew faux stitches all around the edge. the purple mat behind the photo is a 6x6 sheet from the santoro gorjuss collection. i had to cut my photo down a little bit to make it fit but i love the colour combo so i didnt mind too much. the big ice cream which is the focal point of the page is a die cut i have had for ages and have been saving for just the right project. the spotty paper straws were perfect for sticking out of the top of the ice cream to make a half border around the photo. the ice cream tickets are from a roll i bought last summer. i was really excited when i found them but then ended up never finding anything to use them on. this year tho, i have used them on half a dozen projects so im really pleased i found them. the purple tag is from the roald dahl collection by docrafts. it says 'many wonderful surprises await you' which is a quote from charlie and the chocolate factory which i thought tied in nicely with the ice cream and all the ice cream, candy colours. i used combinations of different paper flowers to make up some flowers, using either small flatback flowers, flatback pearls or gems as the centres. some of the paper flowers plus the ribbon i have used on the tag came to me via a facebook swap and arrived in the post the very same day the i made the page so they didnt even get the chance to get put away, they came straight out of the package and onto the page :-) i didnt realise that the deadline for the embellishment challenge for nsd had passed, i thought they were all on the 30th so i will enter this one into the remaining categories, the mixed media and the travel challenge as i have used a photo from one of our summer holidays
