12x12 papers by santoro gorjuss. to start with i tore down the red sheet so it was an inch shorter on each side and then i sprayed it with water in the places where i wanted to put the broidery anglaise. after a few seconds it becomes pliable enough to gather it up without tearing it too much. after it was dry i went around the edge with soot black distress ink. the black broidery anglaise was too gathered to sit right so i cut off the top and glued it to the back of the red sheet so as it would stick out just the right amount once it was turned over. the red and charcoal metallic damask paper is handmade paper that i have been hoarding for just the right project. this page was inspired by the colour of my sons girlfriends hair and how it matched with his shirt and hat on this photo taken on a trip to london. london itself suggests red to me with the london buses, queens soldiers and of course the st george cross. the black and white spotty paper was ripped around the edges and then distressed using soot black distress ink. the photo is backed with a plain black mat and each corner has a metal photo corner clip. ive used stickers and a small tag from the gorjuss die cut pack to make write LONDON and a tiny heart from the same pack to go in the bottom corner. the gorjuss girl is called 'Ladybird' and the images of her are from the same die cut pack. the gold frame is from a different gorjuss die cut pack and the black frame is cut by me using the silhouette cameo, as is the branch. the flower border is again cut with the cameo and embellished with red flatback beads. the scroll and backing for the date are from my scrap paper bin but i suspect they are also by gorjuss.
