I LOVE this LO. It took me a long time to complete. I wanted it just right...and, to me,it is! I have used stamping with acrylic paints, brushing on acrylic paint on a mat, tacks (Chatterbox), stickers from Chatterbox, mosaic stickers, Bazzill cardstock (purples) and a pocket page for the first time on a LO! The Chatterbox products I used are: scrapbook tacks (rosey square), stickers (rosey SI), SI oval die cuts (powder room SI), and a square of Chatterbox patterned paper (on the tag on the left hand LO). I have also used: MM rub-on letters, cha cha fibers, eyelets, pop-up dots, sheer ribbon, Stampin' Up alphabet stamps, Apple Barrel Pastel Pink acrylic paint, Hot Off the Press soft tints yellow / pink gingham patterned paper, a Stuffed-Ups vellum envelope, pink circle mosaic stickers, K & Co patterned paper....and a definition tag from a swap I was in (with the word "Cherish"). (I don't think I left out anything.) I am SO happy with how the pocket page turned out! IF you lift up the sheer pink ribbon and pull out the paper in the pocket, it contains the list of names (38 of them) that I wanted to consider when naming our daughter. I colored with a pink/purple ink the top 11 names I chose. I printed that on vellum and matted it to a lilac / light purple cardstock and eyeleted it together. I then matted that to the checkered patterned paper and adhered the sheer ribbon between those layers to be able to pull out the sheet!
The journaling reads: "Veronica, would you believe it if I told you that I had liked 38 girls names when I was looking through a baby name book to choose your name? I then narrowed it down to 11 and Daddy told me I had to narrow it down even further – to the Top 3 names. Those Top 3 were, in no specific order, Veronica (Latin – true image), Samantha (Aramaic – listener, Hebrew – told by God), and Cara (Latin – dear, Irish – friend). I had gone to the library and researched some names. The following is an excerpt on what I found on the name, Veronica. “According to legend, when Christ was carrying his cross to Calvary an unknown woman offered him a cloth to wipe his brow, and when he returned it to her it bore the imprint of his face. In the time she came to be known as Veronica (Vera – true; icon – image). Her Feast Day is July 12th (the day before Daddy’s and my wedding anniversary).” As soon as Daddy read the information I had gathered he said, “This is it. Veronica.”(HINT: Look inside this pocket for a list of all of the names that I liked for you at that time.)
The die cuts read: Our Little Girl, what we want for her (and I used the rub ons to add "the world"), her personality, her smile, her favorite things (and I added the Chatterbox stickers that read "sister" and "brother"). The tag has her name on it and its meaning sticking out of the vellum envelope...and I added the stickers that read "sweet" and "our" "daughter" also!
