To Teach A Child Is To Touch A Life

What’s more important for fire safety than Stop, Drop, and Roll?
As Eric has learned as Director of Public Education, the most important thing is for people to trust the firefighters. This year alone, Eric will educate more than 4000 children, adults, and seniors. This means more than just fire drills. This is about teaching kids not to be afraid of firefighters; not to hide from them, but instead to hold their hand. This is about showing people how to be safe and stay safe. This is about saving lives, and touching lives.

These pictures are of my DH teaching kids fire safety. He loves getting down on their level any showing them that firemen aren't scary.

I cut out all the lettering, the flames, the hose, and water by hand. The flames are cut out of orange paper, then I used red chalk on the edges of the flames and yellow chalk in the middle of the flmes to make it look more like fire. I also chalked the hose and nozzle and used foam adhesive to make them more dimensional. The journaling and doodles are also by hand.

Thanks for looking!
