This guy, I tell you... His first t-ball season was this past spring and he fell in LOVE with baseball! I mean, LOVE! Which I love because baseball has a special place in my heart - it's the first sport I loved because my whole family watches it. I was a Seattle Mariners fan since Griffey Sr. and a KC Royals fan because that's where my parents grew up. So to have my boy so passionately obsessed with baseball, really makes me so proud! I know his great grandma is smiling down on him! She passed away long before he was born, but even at 92 she was still listening to baseball on the radio.

So, back to the page. He played t-ball for Crescenta Valley Little League (that's the 'CV' on his hat) and 4/30 was Little League Day at Dodger Stadium. Now... I don't mind the Dodgers. They're National League. I can root for them because I've never had an NL team. (I'll never root for the Angels so there). Also we can almost see Dodger Stadium from our house, it's that close. So we purchased the tickets and got there extra early, leaving sister with her Abuela for the day. He got to walk the field with a thousand other little leaguers (and we snuck his bestie, Genevieve in with a borrowed jersey). Then we went up to our seats which were surprisingly really good for being in the 300s.

He. Watched. The. Whole. Game....

Yes, my 4.5 yearold, watched the entire 4-hour baseball game from the first pitch, three home runs for the Dodgers to the last out! And he was cheering and obviously really hoping for a foul ball. I had taught him 'Take me out to the ballgame' a little over a week earlier and, like the little sponge he is, he already had it memorized and sang it proudly in the 7th! (I have a video) It was a wonderful (hot) day at the ballpark and he has nagged us ever since to go see another game! He even goes and sits with his Abuelo and watches games when he's at their house and he knows most of the rules! I'm LOVING this!!

So this page was laid out for May's Sports & Play challenge (sports), but I didn't get the time to sit down and finish it. Being on a roll this weekend, I pulled it out and finished it last night. LOVE how it turned out!
Also for Not to be Squared, Boys Only, National Smile Power Day (June 15), 5 Ingredients (Star, Heart, polka-dot, button and washi tape) and my Hoarders challenge. I got that Dodgers pennant sticker pack waaaay back when DH and I used to go to games with our friends. Can't believe I found it! I also got the polka-dot chipboards, 'game' letters and journal piece from MrsCDJ for my March Ugly win and they were perfect for this page!
TFL!
