Oh my gosh!! What a BEAUTY!!! And what a wonderful touch using your great-aunt's photo!! This tag is right my up my alley too!!! Absolutely LOVE vintage/Victorian/shabby and in pinks too!! Lavender is my favorite color but pink is right up there at the top too!! Beautiful work, my friend!
Oh, Dawna, you know, I LOVE the tag you made me. It's a beauty (in more ways than one!) You did your homework, as this is so me. From my favorite Prima pps, to the gorgeous handmade stickpin, the lovely ribbon, color palette, to the frame and pearls. But the thought you put into this tag ... I noticed that immediately. It truly speaks a lot. I believe a little piece of ourselves goes into each thing we create. Then to learn that the woman in the photo is your Great Aunt Nora added even more interest and meaning to your creation. And as if that weren't enough, the way you took extra TLC to wrap it in the white linen and pink satin ribbon, flower, beautiful brooch and postcard tag was just wonderful and very thoughtful. And the sweet image that fell out was such a wonderful, extra surprise, as it's one of my faves. This Shabby Vintage Tag will go in a special place in my scrap room and will be displayed proudly! And I know each time I see it, it will bring a smile to my face and heart. Thank you so much! (Hugs) Randi
Its been some time since I had the chance to create anything (my happy place is pulling double duty as a storage room) so I decided to join this month's tag swap. I thought it might motivate me to start addressing the space. While clean-up and reorganizing remains a journey, I created this lovely tag for my partner and a very sweet lady, Randi (aka Get Scrappy). Randi's all about family, loves pinks and whites, and is crazy about shabby chic!
To make her tag special, I decided to use a beautiful turn of the century photo of my Great Aunt Nora as the centerpiece. Then I scoured my goody bags from previous swaps with several dear friends here at sb and selected a few shabby vintage items (white satin roses. pearls, lace, ribbon and crocheted doily) and added a few of my favorite things, including a handmade stickpin, to create this ‘Oh So Shabby' vintage tag. The design process took me a while, but when it started coming together, I just loved how it all turned out!
To wrap it up, I embellished the simple linen wrap with a handmade rhinestone, lace, and ribbon bow and tucked in a sweet little vintage dolly image that I knew Randi liked. I really enjoyed creating this special gift for her and hope that it will find a spot somewhere in her happy place! :) Thanks for dropping by! Your encouraging comments always make my day! Hugs ~ Dawna
