Ro, You sure know how to shop for the bargains. Tip: If you use lots of flower petals you can buy silk flower stems for a craft store like Michaels or Hobby Lobby when they have a 50%off sale. You get five times the quantity of petal than a branded flower product. I buy white stems, pull the petals off the stem and then color them with my Tim Holtz mini distress stamp pads or any other stamp pad, or Nuvo Embellishment mousse. You can use a sponge a brush or just smudge the edges of the petal. Keep finding those bargains. Carol
mmmmm.......I think THIS IS A GREAT IDEA!!! I know we all have the same left over odd paper flowers, and thank you for the info on a new way to create New "old" flowers
Entered into Junes Hoarders Challenge. Ive gotten lots of the Prima flower petals in large tubes and I dont always like how they look or I cant find matching colors so I dont use them. I have LOTS of flowers that I dont want to use. A few months ago while in a local junk store I found a jar with several sealed bottles of old printer ink for less than $4. I wasnt sure at the time what Id do with them but figured Id hang on to them and sometime Id find a reason to use them. I did try some of this runny stuff on an ink pad but the ink doesnt play well with stamps. Today, I decided to see how the inks would work on some flower petals. I used separate paper dishes for the different colors and a pair of tweezers. I transferred the wet flowers to old magazines to dry several hrs. What do ya think? I think theyre more likely to get used now. Thanks so much for your comments :o)Ro
