Eventually, DH and I are going to have to take a vacation to that part of the world. I want to see this particular site - it's on my bucket list. You've included enough details to make me feel like, for the moment, I've been there. Thanks for that.
very cool- didn't know they did a memorial- wonderful page- yes, very humbling, we visited the Bush library in Dallas in Jan & seeing a piece of on of the girders from the twin towers as well as the videos.... a sober remembrance
I didn't know the NPS made the place where Flight 93 went down a park. Nice use of the park brochure as the title. You made a elegant and beautiful tribute to a dark part of our history. Thanks for sharing this.
Very nice remembrance layout Bev. I can't imagine what it felt like to stand in that spot where an event with so much terror and horror happened! You scrapped it beautifully. I like that you used the green frame. Before I read your notes, I wondered what the green frame was. Great idea to point it out!
In May we visited the Flight 93 9/11 memorial in Somerset County, PA. Just like other memorials, it is somber and humbling. Unlike the other 9/11 location memorials, it is in a rural area and is maintained as a beautiful park, taking advantage of the water and fields of a former mineshaft. I outlined where the plane actually landed with a small green frame
