After we finished our walking tour of Underground Seattle, we had a bit of time to hang out in the Pioneer Square area. We had a walking map of the area and wandered around looking at the various sights and just enjoying the weather and being together without any pressures of our real life.

We found Waterfall Park where we sat for a good 30 minutes. It's set back away from the main streets, and it's a nice quiet little nook. The waterfall is beautiful (and loud) and just begged for me to take my shoes off and stick my toes into the water. So ... I did!

Eventually we managed to wander our way down to the wharf where we ate dinner at the Crab Pot and then got on the boat for our Seattle Harbor tour.

But this couple of hours - just busy doing nothing - was a great and relaxing start to our vacation.

This page is part of why I almost never use pure white paper. I don't like how hard it is to photograph and not get too much bloom from the white.

The blue buttons in the centers of the white flowers are vintage - but they started life white. I created my own alcohol ink using a dried up sharpie and a little isopropyl alcohol. I'd seen this technique online someplace, so I knew it would work. I've just never tried it before. I'm not delighted with the color - but the sharpie was bright blue so ... so are the buttons!

This is my entry for the Gallery Inspiration Challenge. Public Embedding is disabled for my inspiration page, so you'll have to take a look at it here.

This was a fun project, but I ended up going a lot of my own way with it. I have some Dusty Attic product, and this scrollwork swirl is one of my very favorite pieces -- I just love the lines of it, so I incorporated it as the major chipboard element. I used some Lindy's Moonshadow mist to get it to blue.

Instead of butterflies - since I needed a seaside theme - I made a little chipboard seahorse, using paints and crackle accents (which I like better than Tim's Crackle).

I used a music rub-on instead of what I THINK she used as a stamp - but it could be actually printed on the paper itself (or it could be a mask, it's just impossible to tell). I seldom go off site when the only information I'm given is a blog promo. I feel like SB.com hosts your image, the least you can do is participate and share here as well as your blog. It's not like copy/paste is all that hard. It irritates me, so I just boycott blog advertisers.

I didn't do any mist or paint splattering. It just didn't feel right for this paper set - which is more contemporary than I usually go to. I THOUGHT about stamping a bit in white, but by the time I got that little sea horse and those flowers on, I was happy enough to call it quits.
