I must have drooled over this and not commented! I love everything about this page. The tearing and inking are terrific. The flowers are perfectly arranged and combined!
This is fun and fab, love the tearing! Will have to try your technique for the beautiful blue buttons and will never look at a dried up sharpie the same! lol
This is great. I love the torn layers and paisley paper. I hear you on the blog thing. I don't go to them either, and I completely agree that they should share the LO information here.
This is absolutely stunning. The details and the depth created by the layers, The colours reflect the water, So lovely to work with this range of paper, Very nice layout.
Oh this is lovely! LOVE all the blues and the layering and those bright buttons - what you did for that color is nothing short of inspirational! I'm going to have to find that park when we take the kids to Seattle. Looks like a fun little oasis!
What a delightful story for the beginning of your vacation! l love the idea of painting buttons and wonder why I have not done so then realized I usually have buttons the color I want. I will keep this in mind when I run out of colored buttons.... love the angle of the photos too, it give the page a lot of action!!
Beautiful layout! I love the chipboard seahorse and swirl and how you altered them! Love the musical note rub-ons too! The blues are beautiful - everything came out beautiful!
Thats what I call a vacation also. I never use white paper but I take your word for it about the photo. I love the design Very pretty dye on the flowers, I think it came out perfect. The muted background and the teal background looks great. I can almost feel the water on my toes when reading your journaling. You inspire me.. PS thanks for joining my challenge... I appreciate it. I haven't done my sample yet... but I will.
After we finished our walking tour of Underground Seattle, we had a bit of time to hang out in the Pioneer Square area. We had a walking map of the area and wandered around looking at the various sights and just enjoying the weather and being together without any pressures of our real life.
We found Waterfall Park where we sat for a good 30 minutes. It's set back away from the main streets, and it's a nice quiet little nook. The waterfall is beautiful (and loud) and just begged for me to take my shoes off and stick my toes into the water. So ... I did!
Eventually we managed to wander our way down to the wharf where we ate dinner at the Crab Pot and then got on the boat for our Seattle Harbor tour.
But this couple of hours - just busy doing nothing - was a great and relaxing start to our vacation.

This page is part of why I almost never use pure white paper. I don't like how hard it is to photograph and not get too much bloom from the white.
The blue buttons in the centers of the white flowers are vintage - but they started life white. I created my own alcohol ink using a dried up sharpie and a little isopropyl alcohol. I'd seen this technique online someplace, so I knew it would work. I've just never tried it before. I'm not delighted with the color - but the sharpie was bright blue so ... so are the buttons!
This is my entry for the Gallery Inspiration Challenge. Public Embedding is disabled for my inspiration page, so you'll have to take a look at it here.
This was a fun project, but I ended up going a lot of my own way with it. I have some Dusty Attic product, and this scrollwork swirl is one of my very favorite pieces -- I just love the lines of it, so I incorporated it as the major chipboard element. I used some Lindy's Moonshadow mist to get it to blue.
Instead of butterflies - since I needed a seaside theme - I made a little chipboard seahorse, using paints and crackle accents (which I like better than Tim's Crackle).
I used a music rub-on instead of what I THINK she used as a stamp - but it could be actually printed on the paper itself (or it could be a mask, it's just impossible to tell). I seldom go off site when the only information I'm given is a blog promo. I feel like SB.com hosts your image, the least you can do is participate and share here as well as your blog. It's not like copy/paste is all that hard. It irritates me, so I just boycott blog advertisers.
I didn't do any mist or paint splattering. It just didn't feel right for this paper set - which is more contemporary than I usually go to. I THOUGHT about stamping a bit in white, but by the time I got that little sea horse and those flowers on, I was happy enough to call it quits.
