So - these are blooming at the local pond, but I was out in the heat of the day with the sun directly overhead.
I kind of like to take photos all the time so that I learn what works and what doesn't, and that way when it's time to take a photograph that matters, I don't screw it up! Flowers and photos of flowers don't matter, but the light and shadows and knowing what my camera is going to do with them - even if it's just my phone camera - is important. When the crunch time comes, I want a good photo to be a habit, not an accident!
This photograph is a good example of why you really don't want to take pictures with the sun directly overhead. The flower is actually bright bright lemon yellow. The leaves are color true in the photograph, but the yellow of the flower is really blooming badly because of how much sunlight is being reflected from it.
I might try again tomorrow morning. But - done is better than perfect. I wanted to catch these since I've never seen them in bloom at the park before. I've seen them on ponds when I go trail riding, but those are pink. These yellow ones are really beautiful~
