Two days ago, while rummaging through my stash I rediscovered my enormous stash of buttons so I set a challenge for myself- use as many of those pretty buttons as possible!
Earlier this evening, I had complained to my husband, Anders, that I wasn't getting enough sleep these days since his alarms woke me up at ungodly hours every morning...and ironically he slept through all 3 of his morning alarms like a log! So, I told him I was a bit annoyed and grumpy. Anyway I soon forgot about it and after a nice dinner and watching an episode of our favourite Korean drama, I told him that I was going to make a scrapbook page about us and the theme/title was going to be 'Love is in the Air'. I asked him to write a few lines so I could include them in the layout. This is what he came up with...

“ Love is in the air... and the air smells like cake, tea and coffee!
That is what your A* hubby does just because he is in love with you!
He will squeeze your feet in the most expert way...
He will press your back when it is sore...
He will be your master chef when her Highness wants something delightful to munch on in between meals...
What all your amazing hubby will do because he is in love with you !!!”

I burst out in chuckles when I read this. He sure is amazing, eh?! He definitely deserved a big fat hug.

The journaling is hidden behind the photo and opens like a book. I used magnets to keep the flaps in place. Since I was too lazy to take my sewing machine out and stitch the strings attaching the basket to the 'balloon', I used drinking straws instead! I used buttons of various shapes, sizes and materials to fill the balloon. The 3 big Wooden buttons are painted in florals. The medium sized wooden buttons are painted in black, white and yellow-orange abstract patterns. Some of the chipboard shapes and buttons are covered with washi or gesso, water colours and acrylics. One button is gold heat embossed. I hand drew and fussy cut some vellum clouds and embellished them with light blue glitter stickles. I used my favourite yellow stars paper and red ric rac to border the page. Once I had the buttons and shapes where I wanted them, the layout came about quite quickly.

Thanks for Looking and Have a lovely day!
