Beautiful cards! I use the Distress inks all the time. When I first started scrapping I took an online class by Jennifer McGuire Called ThInking Inking which is available on You Tube. She shows a lot of techniques using the Distress inks. I love this stencil-may have to get this one!
If I hadn't read your description of what you did I would have never dreamed it was TH inks. WOW girl, you did an awesome job or your first try! Welcome to the wonderful world of TH inks! You are going to have so much fun & these are stunning!:)
As one of your first attempts at Distress Inks, this is ridiculously amazing. And of course that you managed to create three like but different looks with it is even more impressive. Fantastic.
I think these are my favorite colors of the three you did. This seems so bright and sunny and will bring joy to the recipient. I love the vellum behind your sentiment. I always love your little extra touches! Lovely!
I am in awe of all of these cards. Those templates are beautiful but I know it takes skill and talent to turn out something so beautiful. You are amazing.
Oh, wow! Somehow I didn't notice that you posted all of these together. This is another fabulous job of blending Distress Inks. I wish we lived close so we could play with inks together. LOL. I know I could learn a lot from you. This is phenomenal work. Such an amazing card.
I don't even know how to begin to say what I love about this. Fabulous, amazing, gorgeous...I have no words. You have really mastered the Distress inks. I have just recently done a few cards with them and I am loving playing with them. Your color mixes are so beautiful. I love the way the flowers hang off the paper. The vellum behind the sentiment is something I have come to expect from you to add just that extra touch. Terrific card!!
Hi LC. These have such perfect lines and layers. Theyre fantastic!! Ive never used templates and Ive never seen or heard of such templates. Ohh, I really need a larger play room!! :o)Ro
These are beautiful--much more complex stenciling than I've ever done--and obviously means you have to buy lots of distress inks! Techniques can be such enablers.
I just recently started my collection of Distress inks. I held off as long as I could but once I tried them, I knew I was in trouble and would need all the colors, lol! So not only am I new to working with Distress inks, but this is the first stencil that I've ever tried. I saw this card (https://www.pinterest.com/pin/240450067588779965/) by Lydia Evans and ordered the layered Dahlia stencil by Altenew right away. There are actually 2 stencils, the first does the lighter base for the flowers and leaves as well as the background. The second lets you add the darker accents. I used Strathmore Bristol Smooth cardstock which many of you know works so well to blend the Distress inks. I made three different color combinations and have plans to try more as I get more inks. I also added Nuvo glitter gloss to all the dark flower and leaf accents.
On my first card (one on the left), I inked a piece of vellum with chipped sapphire Distress ink to create a coordinating mat for my sentiment and on the other 2, I inked a piece of cardstock to match the background then die cut my 'hello' and 'thanks'.
