I just recently started my collection of Distress inks. I held off as long as I could but once I tried them, I knew I was in trouble and would need all the colors, lol! So not only am I new to working with Distress inks, but this is the first stencil that I've ever tried. I saw this card (https://www.pinterest.com/pin/240450067588779965/) by Lydia Evans and ordered the layered Dahlia stencil by Altenew right away. There are actually 2 stencils, the first does the lighter base for the flowers and leaves as well as the background. The second lets you add the darker accents. I used Strathmore Bristol Smooth cardstock which many of you know works so well to blend the Distress inks. I made three different color combinations and have plans to try more as I get more inks. I also added Nuvo glitter gloss to all the dark flower and leaf accents.

On my first card (one on the left), I inked a piece of vellum with chipped sapphire Distress ink to create a coordinating mat for my sentiment and on the other 2, I inked a piece of cardstock to match the background then die cut my 'hello' and 'thanks'.
