What a fun place to experience. I have a sister-in-law who decorates like that every year. We counted 36 Christmas trees one year. I love to visit, but am glad I don't have to do the set up and take down. Lovely layout. I'm sure you really enjoyed yourselves.
I love Christmas decorations and houses completely decorated for Christmas - and what a bonus that it was in 1944 style. WOW! That would have been amazing to see the house decorated in time period for the holidays. It would have been like stepping back in time! I've been to Bok tower, but not since I was a teenager. And went to spook hill where your car appears to roll up the hill backwards! That is all in Lake Wales. I have to remember this at Christmas - its not too far from us - a couple hours I think.
Dec 26th we went to Bok Tower in Lake Wales, FL. Besides the Carillon and Tower Gardens, there was a Holiday Tour at Pinewood Estate. The house is completely decorated for Christmas - every room (even bathrooms). A docent told us that it is different every year. I included the brochure - affixed with brads - 2 on the left and then inside 2 on the right so that you can open it.
Each year is a different story - this year Mr. C. Austin Buck and his family celebrate the first Christmas after victorious D-Day in 1944.
Old Basic Grey papers and brads (hoarded), Kaisercraft - wood. Also top photo is a postcard.
