You did a super job with these "uglies"! I love how you were able to incorporate the black snowman pp - by using black stamping and stitching! Love that pieced sun!
These pics are great and I just love your husband's HUGE grin! But what pulled me in was that AMAZING sun and adorable clouds! You did awesome work here, and somehow gave the feeling of a casual beach day with how you laid the pics, layers, etc. SUPER cute! Right into faves!
WONDERFUL~~it's all wonderful!! That sun....and those clouds...yum! By the way...fun fact...my daughter was not yet 2 when she first saw the ocean and dipped her toes at the Ventura beach. (-; Small world. Then after she graduated from high school, that Ohio girl got to take her first surf board lessons with Ventura Mako. We love California~~
I love this page!!! Like, I liked it when I first saw it because I thought, 'she really threw everything at this and it looks amaze-balls', but then I read your description and realized it was done with the Uglies you were given! Well, that just makes me love it even more!!! Awesome!!
I love your big sun background and the patterned paper clouds. I love all the angles in this layout, from the photos to the banners to your layered backgrounds. Great summer page!
Boy, when an idea hits me, it hits fast! I knew I wanted to do a beach/pool page with my August Uglies, but had to 1. find the photos I wanted; and 2. find the time. Well the kids were asleep by 8:30 last night and I finished clean-up/pack-up fast because they had helped me, SO I sat down at my desk and waded through photos. Honestly I was looking for a family photo to put in DS's school emergency bag, but I came across these two cute photos of DD at the beach with me and with DH. I'm still trying to figure out if it was her first or second time (I wrote 2nd on the journal), but I'm thinking now it might have been her first time... I know her first time we went to Ventura Harbor Beach (or favorite one) with my parents while they were here, but I'm thinking this was the second time we went when my sister and BIL were in town around Halloween. (Yes, we go to the beach in October in So Cal! LOL)
Well anyway, these were from a fun day at the beach in Ventura and she was getting her little tootsies wet. She doesn't LOOK happy in the photos, but she actually did really enjoy slapping the water and gripping the sand. (Now she's a little beach bum! We should have known...)
So the uglies I got were the beach words paper (second from back) and the black snowmen chalk paper that I used for the banners. I also used the orange stars from the Halloween Ugly embellies!
This is also for the Monthly Sketch Challenge: Week 2, Sports and Play (play), Stamping (I used a bunch of my stamps here!), National Wiggle Your Toes Day (8/6) and my Hoarders Challenge. That title piece is an old, old MAMBI sticker pack I've had for ages!
