I made these for the September ATC swap with Marci. Topic was ancestors. I took literally. Australia is made on the back of convicts. Our ancestors were British convicts! Many were sentenced 7years transportation for crimes as little as stealing a hankie or piece of bread. Many were children and they came to this great southern land in chains.
We still have our connection to retain and the monarchy and hence the use of the Union JAck background. The arrows represent the markings of a convict and the chains - the jewels they wore. They head to this great land and landed at Botany Bay, hence the old sound Bound for Botany Bay and the title of the ATCs.

I used a previous techniques from an ATC topic before - napkin technique. I ironed the union jacks onto a piece of paper using cling wrap. I then distressed the edges to give the tattered feel. Thanks for looking.
