Peanuts on Parade ~ Lafayette Park

In the summer of 2000, after St. Paul native, Charles Schulz’s death, artists all over Saint Paul designed and displayed individual renditions of Snoopy in a classic pose with arms outstretched and ears standing tall, for ‘Peanuts on Parade.’ Over two million people from all over flocked to this tribute to Schulz. (Fishin’ Snoopy)
The Snoopy statues were so popular the tribute was repeated in 2001 with ‘Charlie Brown About Town,’ featuring Charlie with his hands outstretched. (Tugboat Charlie)
The Charles Schulz tribute continued in 2002 with ‘Looking for Lucy.’ Despite being a little cynical and having a very demanding personality, Lucy had a wide variety of interests that makes her very believable in all the roles portrayed by the tribute statues. (Queen for a Play)
The Peanuts on Parade tribute to Charles Schulz was continued in 2003, with ‘Linus Blanket’s St. Paul.’ Linus Van Pelt, Lucy's little brother, has one hand outstretched and the other over his heart clutching his all-important security blanket. (Limericks by Linus)

The final Charles Schultz tribute in Saint Paul ran during the summer of 2004. It was called ‘Doghouse Days of Summer,’ and featured Snoopy and Woodstock on top of Snoopy's famous doghouse (Bird in Paradise)
The proceeds from the past Peanut statue promotions have funded the Charles M. Schulz fund, established to create and maintain the permanent bronze statutes in Landmark Plaza, as well as fund scholarships for artists and cartoonists at the College of Visual Arts, the college Schulz attended and later served as an instructor.
