Hi there Elizabeth! You make very "beautiful" homemade crafts!!! This one is magnificent! I wished I had more time in my day to make beautiful things like these. But unfortunately I go ONLY digital! hehehehe :o) Easier and less time consuming.
I want to thank you for your comment/votes on my "Cottage Brook" scrapbook! Very kind of you. It's always nice to get some type of feedback from crafty friends. Be following you! Have yourself a great day and keep up the great "awesome" delightful crafts!
Ciao bella...PS Visit me again when you can.
Such a wonderful innovative work ,fabulous pockets of so much detailing ,textures and the adorable scarecrow . Love the Autumn colours and beautiful beaded leaves.
I love how you put so many different materials to use in your pocket letter! Now that's what I call mixed media!! I bet you had tons of fun making this delightful collection of cards.
Here's another pocket letter I made for the September swap here on scrapbook.com. My partner and I chose Autumn as our theme. I used a few unusual items on this. In the top and bottom middle pockets under the felt leaves are wood shavings my son, Sam, gave me from a work table he's making. Drawer liner under the scarecrows as well as burlap scraps from a flower I made. Under the red felt leaf is actual strands of a horse's tail that a bird had left in one of our apple trees for nesting material! The moss is some my friend Susie collected from a tree and she gave me the raffia as well. The feather on the left is one I found in the yard from a Northern Flicker! And you probably recognize a couple of my handmade flowers. They were white and I sprayed them with bright yellow mist but they dried a pale pumpkin color! The off-white trim under the lower flower was from Marylou. Thank you! I posted closeups of each row so you can see detail better.
This is the first pocket letter I've made that I cut the rectangles from one piece of paper to continue with the design. It is one I've had in my stash for a very long time. I was hoarding it...didn't want to use it because I love it!! But, it is autumn themed so I finally put it to use. It is Bo Bunny Forever Fall Sunflower. After cutting it I ran it through my Big Shot using Darice Chicken Wire embossing folder and then sanded the raised edges. I then inked around each one with TH Vintage Photo distress ink.
I used a Quickutz Nesting Scallop die on the drawer liner. I inked the white fence in with TH Vintage Photo also. It kind of absorbs into it but it isn't so stark white.
The fence, pumpkins, scarecrows, acorns, sunflowers, and leaves (felt and beaded) are all from Hobby Lobby. The yarn on the side I got for $1.00 at Walmart as well as the owl buttons! Sunflower stickers in the middle pocket are K & Company I've had for years also.
