For the September Music Inspiration Challenge, I needed to work with the song "The Morning: Another Morning" by Moody Blues, and use the color blue for the twist, so I used a blue sheet of card stock and blue gel pen.

I made a little poem around the lyric "Cowboys fighting out a duel," though I did make a little tweek to the lyric. The entire poem reads

"Cowboys fight out a duel
A battle of strength and speed
Skills taught not in school
A top bronc, bull, and steed
To see who will rule
REIN supreme 2017"
I used a dash of wordplay for rein/reign, it's not an error!

I took my sweet time getting this layout finished. I had all the main photos printed before Sept. even started, but I wanted to add the photo border, which I barely printed in the nick of time! I shot the rodeo as press and took 1000s of shots, so even narrowing it down the the 15 "big" shots was really hard. I like that I can showcase an extra 96(ish) with the border.

When a girlfriend of mine got married, I took a bunch of photos and I printed them as a collage of all 88 photos on a 4x6. It was mainly just as a throwback to when you printed film and got a shot index, but then I realized I could use the shots as a border on the layout I was making, then all the shots get the 0.5 inches of fame. I am not comfortable sharing that page, so I figured this page would be a fun way to share the technique!

I used Picasa and put 96 photos into a 4x6 collage, made 4 0.5x6 strips for the top and bottom, then cut the remaining shots into columns of 4. Between inaccurate cutting and photo printers eating into the very edges of the shot for bleed, it isn't a perfect fit( i.e. the top left tiny photo is covering a different photo that got mangled by bleed crop and the top right corner has a tiny extra piece of red cardstock to fill in a gap) but I really love it anyways. {I will note, I had better luck with 88 photos than 9, but each collage was printed by a different company so maybe that didn't help}
