I'm finally able to share these since they just went out in the mail yesterday and my sister (who's shower these are for) has already gotten hers.

I am SO excited to be an auntie!! My baby sister is due with her first baby, a girl, on January 2nd! They've struggled to have this little girl and I'm so excited for them!

We found out on the 4th of July, but they did not confirm the gender until late August. I had offered to make the shower invites (temporarily moment of insanity I assure you) back then. Their theme in the nursery is Ocean/Nautical with navy, mint and gray as the colors. They added coral when they confirmed a girl. This makes total sense as my sister is a certified scuba diver and a great shark lover.

I actually bought the Avery Elle whale stamp before I volunteered to make these because it has an Orca (killer whale) and my kids are huge Orca fans (our family is known as the Polio Pod these days... more on that later). So I loved the idea of the 'Whalecome' theme, but needed a baby. Enter the littler whale from Lawn Fawn (Whale You Be Mine)!

I actually stamped those back in August on watercolor paper and then water-colored each of them. I actually really love that each whale is slightly different based on the how much pigment I used each time! Took maybe 2 hours total. But then they just sat and sat while I tried to decide how to do the card, order the supplies and then assemble them. Did I mention I made 70? Yeah... 7-0.... I had help of course... Hubs addressed all the envelops since he has amazing handwriting and I got together with a crafty friend (Renaylucy) and we assembled all of them in one sitting. And now we are going to make HER birthday party cards! It should be noted I'm not much of a card-making fan, but I got into it this time and look forward to making Lucy's cards and maybe our holiday cards this year... (we'll see...)

Anyway, I'm super happy with the results and already working on the decorations with my mom for the November shower!
