This is a wooden piece that I decorated up for my best friend's birthday. I was going to give it to her in the raw wood because she loves to craft also, but decided to go ahead and make this for her. Her last name starts with "W" and these are colors she has in her living room.

I measured each slat and then cut my background paper to fit from Paper Studio's Country Road collection. After gluing it down with Mod Podge, I inked the edges with TH Walnut Stain. I ran across the center paper in my scrap stash and found the colors matched perfectly. I have had it for at least three years. I believe it is from Bo Bunny. Then I had to come up with a "W" and since I didn't have any stencil the right size and was too lazy to put my Cricut to use, I free-handed it on the backside of a cereal box. I found another scrap of paper that matched and traced it, cut it out, and glued it to the cereal box chipboard. I raised it up with foam dots. After that I inked in the moving vines stencil with TH Walnut Stain and heat embossed with clear embossing powder.

Next came this cute little nest with eggs and I added the little bird to that. The pretty lilies are from Wild Orchid Crafts and the aqua flowers are Paper Studio from HL. The bird and nest were pieces I picked up from our local Craft Warehouse that closed earlier this year.

In the next picture I took a close-up of what looks like a twig. In August, my husband and I spent several days splitting wood for winter using our wood splitter. This "twig" came out of the middle of a birch limb! I thought it was so cool looking and what's funny is it actually feels quite smooth along the length of it. I just had to hang onto it for a special project, and this fit the bill! :-)

Butterflies I die cut awhile back and had in my stash and the little flourishes I die cut from G45's Portrait of a Lady for a prior project that I didn't use them on!

I hope you like my project and thank you for stopping by!
