Recently, while combing through old photos my grandma had kept over the years, I came across this photo, and I fell in love with it! I find it to be hauntingly beautiful. The remnants of packaging is scattered among the new toys that had arrived the day before. Even the lamp shade is crooked! This moment in life was captured forever by my grandma, she even provided the title! "The Morning After" had been written at the bottom of the photo.

Challenges:
-The Ugly Games: This is created using papers I received in September from SonjaC. I was having some mental roadblocks last month & just couldn't get what I was thinking to come out! Then one day I saw a layout by ReneaBouquet DT Member Phyllis, and I instantly perked up and realized it embodied what I had been thinking and stepped it up a notch!

(Link to Phyllis' layout: https://www.facebook.com/Reneabouquets.comandEtsy/photos/a.191426897675746.1073741826.191424787675957/904781589673603/?type=3&theater)

First, a short explanation, because these papers were sent to me during football season! I am a Kansas City Chiefs fan, Sonja is a Seattle Seahawks fan, and she has been patiently waiting for me to be on the receiving end during football season since the spring! The mascot for the Seahawks is Tamia the Hawk, hence the photo, and Seahawks fans are the "12th Man Army," hence the two "12" circles (apparently the Seahawks can't play without an extra person ::smirk::) Anyhow, I normally get my layouts completed on time, but September was a draining month for me, and it seemed to affect my creative process. I knew what I wanted to create, and had actually put a layout together most of the way, but it just wasn't right! It was dull, and the lobster paper poinsettias just wouldn't blend in! I was frustrated, and that certainly didn't help my roadblock, then, as luck would have it, I saw the layout by Phyllis on the ReneaBouquet's Facebook Page! I actually dismantled the layout I had started, very carefully given I could replace any of the elements I had received in The Ugly Games and started anew!

The more crumpled poinsettia's are meade from the lobster paper with some alcohol ink (cranberry) and distress spray stains used to tone down the white. Some of the holly and the "fronts" of the ornaments came from the blue/green flouish paper. I used all the alcohol inks listed (except the silver) and the Dazzlerz paste on the pink rhinestones, then ran some of the wire through them so I could turn them into spirls. Tamia the Hawk became the "background" of the ornaments. And, both "12" circles made it on! Both coated with clear embossing powder, then one with 1953 across it and the other coated in Iced Spruce Distress Oxide and tucked under the left edge of the photo!

-In This Corner: I'm not sure if this counts or not, but the BG paper has poinsettia clusters in the upper left and lower right corners ... (here is a link to a randomly selected site that shows the paper: http://www.simplyspecialcrafts.com/2pc-foil-12x12-black-silver-floral-20673-paper-pizazz-hotp/)
