The dreaded question, "Is Santa Claus really real, mom?" I have no choice, I must answer honestly.
To me he is real with every clink of hard earned coins dropped into a red kettle. When someone donates food, toys, coats and mittens to families they will never see, he is real. Every time someone stands over a steam table for ten hours without getting paid a dime so a stranger can get a hot meal, Santa becomes real.
So, completely without guilt, I look you directly in the eye and say, "Yes, Kaleb, Santa Claus is really real."
