This was my first ever swap and I wanted to make something special for Elizabeth in her favorite color: purple. I cut the ornaments out of chipboard and used trimcraft First Edition paper to cover them. I cut the tops of the ornament from a metallic cardstock and added a loop of wire. Elizabeth loves birds so I decorated one of the ornaments with a bird that I cut from chipboard, covered in gold kraft core that I distressed, and added a lavender jewel eye. I used the same gold paper that I de-bossed with snowflakes as the background paper. I sanded the entire surface to take the brightness out of it. I cut chipboard using a TH On The Edge die for the top. I cut the Christmas tree wth a spellbinders die and painted it with dusty concord and peacock feathers ink diluted with water. I threaded the buttons with lavender linen bookbinders thread and glued them onto the tree. I prefer to sew buttons on, but there wasn’t enough paper to do this. I embossed the sentiment with silver embossing powder, although Elizabeth is really much better at heat embossing than I am. Trimmed in lace and pearls and added tiny bells.

I had so much fun making this with Elizabeth in mind. She has been a terrific first swap partner.

Thanks for looking!
