I think Robin's idea of a star on top would be awesome! I personally like the natural, rustic, woodsy look of the plain cork on the bottom and I personally would leave it natural.

I think it's absolutely adorable, Elizabeth! Knowing me, I would add a cute star on the top and wrap a little champagne colored mesh around the bottom. Oh for the love girl, you are so funny! Number one it does not look like a kid made it, unless he is very creative! Number two, I think it is amazing & will be perfect for her wine area. I like how you used the gold flakes & I like it whether it is standing or lying flat, could work either way. That was a lot of work!!:)
