The story and the pictures of your daughter brought tears to my eyes. You can see the hurt in her eyes... o h makes me tear up even more. But it is a beautiful layout!!
Oh, this is so sad! I did the same with my youngest son with our last dog that passed away, his eyes still swim when he sees any photo of him. So sorry for her loss, but unfortunately it's a part of life and we all have to go through it. Lovely that you could scrap this memory though, she'll thank you for it one day. Lovely layout!
Oh my heart is breaking for her. It is awful to lose a intregral part of the family. You scrapped it beautifully and reverently. Your journaling is wonderful.
This is such an emotional page and a wonderful tribute to Whitey and of course memories to your daughter to cherish for many years. You did such a wonderful job documenting all this! Love your choice of colours and papers.
Her expression says it all, the heartbreaking moments that live gives us. There are some beautiful elements used to honor Whitney that your DD will cherish for years the time given there last moments.
Oh my gosh, I'm in tears at my computer! How emotional! You captured the heartbreak so perfectly in these pictures and in her expressions. You can see what she is feeling. Great page and one that will always have a lot of meaning for her.
Wow,,,,,,,this is such a heartfelt moment. The loss of a close friend is never easy especially for a child to experience. Thru her love for Whitney she bravely let her go and attended to a proper burial with flowers to adorn the love for her dear friend. My sympathy for all
A layout of my youngest and her first loss of anything close to her that was alive. It was a heart wrenching afternoon watching her go through this process and there was nothing we could do or say to make it easier, she just had to experience it. The journaling reads: - Whitey became a family member after flying into school and sitting on the ledge all day. It was your birthday and the teacher who found her gave her to you for a present. We had Whitey for nearly 5 years and then one day she got sick and I heard you crying “Get up, get off the bottom of the cage”. We took her out and gave her to you and you hugged her to your chest as she took her final breaths and then closed her eyes for the last time. You were heart broken and you insisted we bury her and you raced up the street to get her some flowers from a neighbour’s garden. It was so hard to watch you go through this but unfortunately a life lesson we all need to experience – sometimes too many times. Even today you go out and bring her flowers.
I made this layout for the Anything goes Challenge for the weekly challenge. I was only allowed to use Baja Blue and Beryl Green as my colours. I had to use things from my pseudo kit - which I did for the base paper and metal stickers - and I was allowed to add one card stock and upto 3 papers. I found the fab scraps Autumn Floral paper in my stash and it was double sided with the bird cages - how appropriate - for this page. The day I focused on was National Hug Day. This was her last hug with her little bird Whitey. We also had to use the letters from our Chinese Horoscope animal - mine is Monkey and these can be found in the title YOur 1st heart broKEN Moment. I have had these photos for a while as I could never quite decide on how to document this moment and I am pleased that I waited as this layout is a fitting tribute to Whitey and Lilly's first heart break. Thanks for taking the time to look, it is appreciated.
