A cruise layout. Yes I am 2 years behind I know. But at least it is another completed.
I completed this one to enter in the CSI case file 247 http://csichallenge.blogspot.com.au/
The stimulus was a island scene and I drew upon the palm trees, the flowers and the colours. From the clues I used the pink, the blue, the green, the orange and the white background. I used the mixed media background - where I masked the palm trees and the ropes using modelling paste. I journalled from the prompts fround http://30daysoflists.blogspot.com/2011/04/30-days-of-lists-complete-collection.html - place I'd rather be, put flowers to the journal block, had floral patterned paper and added the palm leaf.
I hand sewed the edges in two spots and used novo drops to add a little dimension. The carbouchon flowers were a perfect fit. I embossed the journaling block with an island themed folder from couture designs. The jounaling reads - After spending the morning snorkelling out in the middle of the ocean, it was time to take a more leisurely approach to exploring New Caledonia, Noumea. We joined the hop on hop off bus and got off at Anse Vata to get a water taxi to Duck Island.
This island - Ile Aux Canard (Duck Island): is a marine reserve and is only a short distance by boat from Anse Vata beach, the main tourist area of the town of Noumea. It is a lovely island with white sand and crystal clear waters. We spent a leisurely hour and a half walking the perimeter and snorkelling off the beach.
It was really pretty and so nice to explore. Whilst not a major tourist action spot it is a lovely place to visit. So glad we took the time and ventured there.

I will also enter this in the not to be squared challenge, the anything goes challenge and the die cutting machine challenge.
Thanks for looking.
