At the ball, I was awarded the Molly Pitcher Award, which is given "to today's Artillery wives [who] in their Army community perpetuate the spirit of sacrifice and devotion of Molly Pitcher". Molly Pitcher was known to take pitcher after pitcher of fresh water to her husband and his troops on the battle field. On one trip, she saw that her husband had been wounded and, without hesitation, she picked up his rammer staff and continued his job in the battle.
I was incredibly honored and humbled to receive this.
