Gorgeous page!! I love the fabulous layers, and all of your techniques! Beautiful embellies too! Thanks for getting messy this month for the Mixed Media Challenge!
Oh you KNOW how I feel about this project, Sharon. It really speaks to my heart - so vintage and lovely and feminine and just something that I want to pick up and touch and say, "how did you do that..." Thanks so much for, once again, adding to my bulging shopping cart. I now know I need some of those yummy artisian powders. And then, once I have them, figuring out what to DO with them.... but having them first, THAT'S the main thing, right? LOL Thanks for sharing and inspiring me today.
There is so much happening on this that it will take forever to decipher it all. Love the die cuts and the burlap. The brass additions are amazing and the colouring - perfect. How funny that we run for the camera whenever beauty captures us. This is a stunning layout Sharon. Love that you had a messy creative time!
This is so beautiful. I have to keep going back and looking at it to see all the different things you used. I like that bit of netting on the left. I just notice that little feather. I love it all. The distressing with your different inks is so well done. Most of all I love the flowers, the real and the artificial!
Oh Sharon, this LO is gorgeous!!! I love looking at the wonderful embellies you have on the page. I want to see it in person!! Love how you tucked the paper flower over the green mat. Love the frame around the photos. Such an awesome LO.
On Thursday morning I woke up early and as I was getting my coffee I realized I had not taken out the recycling to the curb. I hurriedly put on a pair of shoes (clogs) and took the bin around the house to curb side. As I came to the gate I notice all the petals from the tulip tree were starting to fall like snow, they were also covered in dew! It was such a pretty sight that ran back in the house for may camera. Then to the smell of Sweet William I snapped a few shots, including the orange tree in the neighbors yard.
I recently read somewhere about taking your heavy cardboard and running it thru a crimper several (lots) times in all directions and it breaks down the fibers some and gives it a softer feel to the board. I did that to the board behind the photos.
I used the wax and Artisan powder on the wooden butterflies, I painted with a chalk type paint, then used a Q-tip to apply the powder in the small areas, then took my finger to rub the wax around the edges. I used a little re-inker soaked nib to color in the body of the butterfly. The snail is just the powders with re-inker ink directly applied to the body of little guy. I used the point of a nib to draw the spiral on his shell.
