This is a terrific layout. The items you put together are perfect. Isn't interesting what other people see when they look at relatives? friends of mine from childhood say a picture of my dd and said to me "I feel I'm in a time warp, and there you are at 15"
Hi Elizabeth, this l/o is crazy gorgeous! : ) I really <3 the very idea of it. I want to try this someday~ Thank you for the details you include and the wonderful ideas. I appreciate that. Hugs to you, karen o
Wow, this is a beautiful, vintage page. I love the way you used the scrabble tiles as a banner. Your floral cluster is gorgeous. I love the clock and flourishes you have added. Your sentiment at the bottom is so perfect and so true. Lovely work.
Best scrabble play ever!!!!! Gorgeous gorgeous page! Love the innovative use of the scrabble tiles as a banner. Great arrangement of the flowers, nice addition of the blue prills, love the gears, clock, lock, key and feathers in amongst them. Beautiful butterflies... a fantastic page! And the resemblance is fascinating!
My goodness, you're right - the similarities are amazing! Beautiful page, btw, love your heat embossing and that incredible cluster of flowers, flourish and fiber!
You both have the same face! This is a beautiful, nostalgic, and sentimental. And your embossed edging is so much neater than my freehand style. You are amazing!
The flower, clock, heart cluster is a knockout. That is a masterpiece on it's own. The paper is gorgeous! The pictures are darling! You have the same eyes, nose and chin. Love!
Beautiful layout Elizabeth. I love all the embossing and I love how you did the title with tiles. Both kids are very cute but I cant see any resemblance :o)Ro
Yes, it is remarkable! If Daniel had long hair you two would look like twins, WOW! The paper could not be more perfect & the scrabble tiles, both great finds! I like how you framed it with gold. I have done that, but not perfect like yours, lol! Your floral cluster with the clock face is wonderfully creative. I think you should get an A++++ on this lo!:)
This layout was actually inspired by a comment our friend, Carri (Caletts), made on my last layout, "Limited Edition". She said Daniel kind of looks like me. I remembered these pictures I had, me in Kindergarten at 5 years old and Daniel in preschool at 4 years old. So, this is what I came up with!
The cool thing is, I stopped by one of our local antique malls to get some reading material, came out with no books, but I did get these Scrabble tiles and my background papers there! One of the sellers has some scrapbooking supplies and I got several things for a very good price! I was tickled pink that I found this paper to use right off the bat! I inked around the edges of all the tiles with TH Walnut Stain distress ink pad.
A new technique (for me) and inspired by Pam (FritillaryB) was heat embossing around the edges of the background paper as well as the phrase paper at the bottom. I took a piece of scrap paper to use as a guideline for the edges, rubbed my Versamark and then used Ranger's Liquid Platinum embossing powder. I also used it on the beautiful flourish and Generation chippies from Creative Embellishments.
Special thanks to:
Donna (Bonprof) for the gorgeous Reneabouquets Beautiful Board clock Karin (Mosbarger) for the lovely Prima flowers Rossibelle Carri (Caletts) for the cardstock I used for the labels Marylou (Meggie's Nana) for the Ice Queen and Minnie Pearl prills
The cloisonne and gold button in the floral cluster were from my Mom's button tin so that makes it extra special. Feathers at the top are from Wild Turkeys we've had on our property. Butterflies are Reneabouquets.
One thing I might add....we are no longer bashful!! LOL
