This is a technique I've been wanting to try for a while now, so I made it this month's project for my crafting group. It's really fun to do and the result is very unique. The images are stamped and heat-embossed in white on white mixed-media cardstock first, then the graduated background is created with Distress Inks. Plain water is then applied inside the area of the stamped image and blotted off, lifting most of the ink away with it. I created a shadow around the flower and leaves with colored pencils to add visual depth when everything was dry.
Cardstock: Strathmore Mixed Media/Series 400/Best
Stamps: Altenew Magnificent Bloom (flower), Blooming Boquet (leaves), Justrite Grand Sentiments (Thinking of You)
Embossing Powder: Judikins, white
Inks: VersaMark (embossing); Tim Holtz Distress Inks (blues)
