Pics sent to me from dad's childhood bff. We reconnected after my parents passed away and he sent me these pics. We were only able to get together once due to his health. We would send letters and cards to each other monthly until he passed away a couple years later. The tabbed journaling folio is about memories of our day together and tucks behind framed photo. We drove out of state to spend Mother's Day. It was so amazing to spend HOURS with him talking about camping trip with the Webers, bowling, boating weekends, Friday campfires in the back yard. My son enjoyed hearing about his Papaw's childhood misadventures, my husband hearing stories from Peck that when I told him, he thought were just too far out to be true. I hadn't seen his 2 daughters in nearly 40 years and their grandkids couldn't believe the stories their Popo told them really did happen. It was bittersweet because his sons weren't there. One lived 500+ miles away and the youngest was in his 20s when he was shot and killed at work.
