First page of my most recent Hawaii book! Finally finished proofing the first few pages (although please let me know if you see anything I missed.)

I hate lizards and geckos but I thought this guy was the cutest ever and I used him all over my pages.

On one of his front feet, it looks like he only has two toes and I thought the image was flawed. Then I looked again.

Anyone who knows Hawaii knows the greeting is a Shaka, means everything's okay or everything's good. Only used in Hawaii that I know of.

You fold the middle 3 fingers back and extent the thump and pinky and rock the hand back and forth.

If someone recognizes you across a room or parking lot, rather than wave, they will do the Shaka and when they leave, instead of waving goodbye - they tuck middle fingers, extend the pinky and thumb and wobble the hand back and forth.

I hope I explained that well enough. I looked at this kit and all the creatures in it were doing the Shaka and so were the cartoon people images.
