This is AMAZING! I'm also appreciative you added the 2nd photo of the close up because I could appreciate so many more details. Do you mind sharing what products you used to add the colors and where you bought that copper sheet?
Jaw dropping stunning!!!!! Your colors, your metals, the image in the keyhole, the flowers and lace and that amazing bird - I love every detail of this tag!!!!!
It comes as no surprise that this tag would be your husband's favorite, it is exceptional in every way! The richness of the colors, the glorious texture of your background and the beauty of each and every detail is so impressive. Pam, you are so talented!
Wow!!!! I don't even have the words to describe how amazing this tag is. First, the symmetry of the gears...awesome. Second, that face peeking through the key hole...incredible. Third, your flowers are unprecedented. You create such beautiful flowers. Your artistry is amazing Pam.
Oh for the love Pam I am so glad you did not give up on this tag! This is so amazing & the bg work with the sprayed paper pieces is so creative. All of the gears, corner pieces, flowers, bird, & oh just everything is over the top wonderful! I can see why your hubby loves this!:)
The centerpiece of this tag might be this diecut bird, but the inspiration was really the background. I knew I wanted copper with these colors. I used an old Sizzix bigZ die to cut the bird from a sheet of copper metal and also cut it from chipboard and then mounted the copper on the chipboard. I made the background tag back in January when I was playing with Lindy sprays on little squares to make ATCs. I prepared most of the other altered pieces in February and had this about 95% done when I just got stuck in a brain freeze. I finally had the chance to pull it back out and I realized what was bothering me. I had my perfectly stamped and copper embossed text deconstructed into perfect squares on a paper that was just ok with the background. It just didn't fit. I tossed it out and found some scraps from my collaged background and decided to use those for my stamped text. To get the vintage effect that I wanted I stamped upside down with my paper on top and pressed the paper onto the stamp with my fingers. This made it all slightly uneven when I added my embossing powder. I love the way the new pieces came out. I thought briefly about distressing the copper bird and quickly decided to be patient and let it patina with age. I know that is a strange approach since the first instinct is to alter.
It was such a relief to finally finish this after having it sit in pieces for over two months. I think I loved enough that I didn't want to compromise. The second photo shows a close up,of some of the detail. IMO it is much prettier IRL. This is my Husband's favorite tag of all that I have made.
Thank you so much for looking and for listening to my long drawn out story.
