For the April inspiration song challenge, and the April sketch challenge- #1.

My song was "Home" by Philip Phillips.

Journaling beneath the "home" tag- Soooo, this layout took a different course than I thought it would. It was totally going to be about my sweetie, but when I saw this image, I knew I had to scrap it- and the song fit it perfectly. I was raised Catholic, and although I've grown away from the religion, this spoke to me. I can imagine Jesus waiting for me with open arms- welcoming me home, and me being more than ecstatic to finally be HOME!. Able to see Mom and Dad, and my sweet angel who never made it. She looks so joyful to finally be home. I would be too.

The artist for this image is Kero. Saw this image on Facebook and it comforted me. Thank you so much for the inspiration and evoking the feeling that I would be welcomed home with love and forgiveness. For the sketch challenge- I wanted to include the circle motif to indicate the life-death cycle that happens to all of us- as well as including the rainbow imaging portrayed in the picture. I associate rainbows with good things and hope- no matter how far we think we've fallen, there is always hope. Finally, pastels for the challenge- i did want the picture to stand out- so tried to keep everything else subdued.

* I apologize for the skewed "home" tag. I wanted it straight- and the perfectionist in me is agonizing over it- however, the part of me that is trying to learn to "let go" is whispering in my ear. I'll leave it for now.....
