Thanks so much for your comments. The Cardiographer nailed it - "a true work of the heart". I truly love, and will forever be thankful for, how he took me into his heart when my Mom died. A wonderful (92 year old) man with a heart of gold.
Wow, wow wow! You sure did a wonderful job of making this l o n g card. It is so clever, love how you put his face here and there! I bet he will have the biggest smile on his face when he gets this lovely card!
My amazing stepdad is celebrating his 91st birthday. He is a heavy duty Kansas City Chiefs and KC Royals fan. To customize his birthday card, I sent him an email with ten questions to find out what his favorite things are.
When he wrote back he had selected the Royals baseball team, the color blue, the movie “Gone with he Wind”, the song “Ebb Tide,” etc. etc. It was so much fun learning more about him that I decided to design his birthday card around his favorite things in life.
To get everything to fit, I had to design a long card (VERY LONG ACTUALLY).
For kicks, I took pieces of elastic cord and dangled cut out baseballs from them. It gives the card movement.
I had to make an envelope for it, so I struggled a bit, but managed to create one I think the U.S. Postal Service will accept.
When I was folding up the card to test it on the envelope, I realized I needed to put somethings on the back. I went with stamps.
This was definitely one of my favorite projects, made for one of my favorite people in the world.
