I always wanted a wall mounted phone when I was a kid, why I don't know - just thought they were cool. Love that you have and kept one. Fun page and memory of times gone by.
This is an adorable page. To our grandkids, these are antiques! So much fun. Back then we had no clue we would someday have cell phones and iPhone and would send text messages on them. We had an old rotary phone and our house had a built in phone ledge for it. So many memories. We were on a 7 party line! Kids would never understand that today!
Oh, this does bring back the memories! I love the title on this LO. The things this generation of kids have never seen boggle the mind. And the things I resisted - like texting - but finally are a part of my life now. I had to learn to text so I could communicate with my grandchildren.
We had a phone just like this one except it was beige, in our dining room. My parents still have an old rotary phone in one of their guest bedrooms. We call it the fire alarm phone because of its super loud ring (it's still operational, they must not have digital lines). Your journaling is so well done. I love the pops of purple you added that pull that pretty shade from the sweet photo of Kylie. The birch print background is lovely. Your title is fabulous! Another beautiful page!
Of course its been a while since Ive seen a rotary phone, but I figured thered be a few of em still in use. I didnt know new lines/systems disabled them. Does make sense, but I just never thought about it. I love the subject and journaling of this pretty layout. Cute photo of a cute little girl :o)Ro
Very funny page. I love the "old" phones and didn't think any were around. I remember the strange colors and the hours I spent talking to my girl friends
omgosh, how fun is this. I love the title work, and your DGD is just adorable in the photo, LOL. What a great story. It is too bad more kids don't get to experience such a relic, LOL. Lovely page, my friend.
I love this page and such a great title1 It makes me laugh! Love the rustic look to the background and the sweet purple flowers-forget me knots?- soften the corners . Awesome layout Nylene !
Journaling: Kylie is enthralled with our old rotary wall phone in the basement. At Cousin Camp she would go down and dial the phones of her cousins upstairs just to see it work. Then everyone had to have a turn. Unfortunately when we went to a digital phone line the rotary no longer works. It rings but won't call out. We have very disappointed grandchildren. They love our antiques.
