Lots of wonderful choices you've made. I like the oval and layered photo setting. Like the diagonal cut through the one background pp and the branch with all those flowers on it.
This is an amazing page! I'm always looking for beautiful and unique ideas for my vintage photos and yours is awesome! I love how the colors and all the textures compliment the photo of your mom (instead of overpowering it)! I'm so stealing this layout... ;-)
Stunning! This beautiful page is testament to your talent and amazing versatility as a crafter. Any new craft venture you take on you do to perfection. Looking forward to seeing more of your gorgeous LOs!
Oh my this is your first layout??? Wowzers, you did a fantastic job!!! Your captured your mom beautifully and I can't wait to see more of your precious family photos and how you scrap them!
First 12 x12? You did an amazing job the first time out of the gate! It's gorgeous; I love the papers you used and all the flowers and especially the branch. So pretty.
Such a lovely first layout!!!! You've scrapped this photo of your beautiful mother so well with the layers of paper and peeks of lace and the pretty clusters of flowers!!!!
This is such a beautiful layout Pam! I was browsing through the challenges during my break at work and knew this was your amazing work without reading the by line. I love how you added the lace coming out from under the paper. Such gorgeous bouquets and a lovely picture of your mom. I love the tag chatterbox Chatterton, fun journaling.
Pam, what a beautiful job you did on your first layout! I'm so proud of you! Your mom was so pretty. And I love your floral arrangements. Pretty papers, design and embellies.
Oh Pam, this is beyond beautiful. And your mom is such a pretty lady. And you're right, I think it was a thing during that time period not to smile because my moms photo is the same way. It's the Mona Lisa smile. LOL I personally love all the flowers. And I'm like you, I'm not a layout person. I've done very few. For some reason they overwhelm me. Too much space to deal with. I love the lace, I love your paper choice and the distressing is perfect. You rock the 12x12's.
Pam I see a lot of you in your beautiful mother. You creacted a beautiful layout in her honor.
Love the tiny flowers such a precious touch. Love your placement of the pastel flowers so pretty.
This is my Mom at around the time she graduated from high school. She was beautiful and outgoing and everyone loved her. It must have been the fashion to not smile for photos at the time (early 1950s) because my mother was always smiling. She looks so serene in this photo.
This is actually the very first 12 x 12 layout that I have made. I have always done mini-albums in the past. Seeing all the gorgeous layouts on SB.com inspired me to gice it a try and I have some fabulous family photos I would like to do. I think I might have gone overboard on flowers this time- particularly in the lower left corner, but I stuck them down with 3-d matte gel so I couldn't make any adjustments. I am sure I will get used to this larger format.
I made the name bar with a Prima Iron Orchid mold and paper clay. I painted it with Finnabair butterfly spells, Inklingz Mochchino, and finished Finnabair Old Silver wax. See detail in closeup photo. The paper is mostly Blue Fern Studios In The Mood, but there are also a few pieces of 49 Market. The chipboard branch is by dusty attic. The flowers are all from Wild Orchid crafts. I used a Sizzix die to cut the tags, and a Spellbinders die to cut the fern leaves. I added a few prills and micro beads (Renea Bouquets). The pearl embellishments tucked into the flower clusters are buttons. the glass cabachon is vintage from my stash.
