Huh? I didn't know Cedar Key was the second largest city in 1880's or about the pencils. Guess you learn something new every day. LOVE the panorama. The Graphic 45 and you sure make Cedar Key a beautiful place. Hope I can do the same thing with my photos.

Journaling - After the war, the many red cedar trees brought prosperity as the Faber pencil company opened a wood mill here. Eagle Pencils set up a factory to make pencils which they exported to the world. Cedar Key became the second largest city in the state during the 1880s. However, within a few years the cedars had all been cut down. Then, in 1896, a devastating hurricane destroyed the town and docks. Cedar Key today is a wonderful example of “old Florida” with historic buildings, beautiful views of the Gulf, access to some of the finest fishing waters, and a laid back attitude. Population as of 2016 was 706.
