A few months ago when I received the pizza doodle-pop I felt like it needed a box. I pulled out some kraft cardstock and set about creating a small pizza box with my paper trimmer and bone folder. I added a layer of white corrugated paper under the pizza since I've had many real pizzas packaged that way and thought it would be a fun touch. Once the box was complete, I drew a blank as to how I would use it on a card so I set it in my WIP box.

Inspiration hit on NSD when I saw Anya Lunchenko's explosion box card on the SCT blog (https://scrapbookandcards.com/insd-2018-kick-off-a-pagemaps-challenge/). I had been wanting to try this style of card for some time and thought it would be perfect to add my little pizza box to. I started with a sheet of 12x12 kraft cardstock and scored and cut my base piece. I then added red and black mats topped with a lemon yellow linen print stitched square for each of the 4 outer sections. The center is covered in a red and white gingham print with die cut stitched scallop edges to look like a tablecloth. Three of the inside sections of the box have layered circles embellished with pizza and soda icon stickers as well as a polka dot print from Doodlebug and a striped black and white print from MFT. For the fourth side, I created a vellum pocket to add a gift card to a local pizzeria. In the center beside my pizza box, I stood up soda doodle-pops using small pieces of acetate. The recipient can open the pizza box to reveal a sentiment. For the lid of the explosion box, I layered paper to match the inside and then made and added a rosette. I topped the rosette with vellum and linen print circles before adding my red and white gingham bow. The sentiment tag and fork and spoon image on the outside are part of a sheet of 2x2 squares from Doodlebug design's Sweet Things collection. I love how so many of Doodlebug's collections work seamlessly together.

Your kindness and encouragement always makes me smile. Thank you!!!
