This pic was from over a year ago. DD couldn't read back then, but she was flipping through the pages of the book we were reading [at bedtimes] looking for an occasional picture. We had been off picture books for at least a year at that point so the occasional picture is exciting. Now, she is 5 and reading her own books to us. Its a little frustrating for her because she is on beginner level one books and they are not quite as stimulating [for her]. I keep promising that she can graduate to more fun books as she continues to practice and get better. Its a work in progress, but I am hoping that when she gets to kindergarten in the fall, she will be able to enjoy books more independently. Then the adventure begins.
Thats sort of how I got the idea from the LO. The reality is I scraplifted this from Elsie Robinson. I loved her design so much I was super stoked to finally have the right photo for it. It was fun and a lot of it I was able to do while hanging out with my best friend and all time favorite scrap-buddy.
