This is a photo I took for the AUGUST 2018 PHOTO FUN, August Minis: 10. Thrift

I love to go to thrift stores. My favorite things to look for are glassware and decor items. If I spend $1 for something, I'm not going to be freaking out if it gets broken (except for a piece of stemware I bought a few weeks ago, that I absolutely LOOOOOOVED and then knocked it off the table and broke it the 2nd time I used it. Grrrrrr...., sure, it only cost me 50 cents, but I LOOOOOOOVED it! )

Yesterday, I went to the local Goodwill just to see what I could see and this is what I came home with. It seems I must've been shopping for Fall decor. The basket was the first thing that caught my eye. I thought it was a fabulous basket, but it was $6...a little rich for my usual thrift store budget. But, I put it in my shopping cart..then took it back out...then put it back in....this continued the entire time I was in the store. LOL

Then I found the quail. $1!! I seem to have started a bird theme on my front porch and this seemed like a fabulous one for Fall. Now, though, I'm thinking it may end up on my fireplace mantel.

Then I found the the platter (that the quail is on in the photo) and I thought it would be terrific in my china cabinet, buuuuut..once I placed it in the shopping cart next to the quail, I loved how they looked together and the platter is probably going to be used for Fall decor, but might end up in the china cabinets afterwards. It was a bargain for $1, but when I got to the register, it was half-off!

Then I saw the geese plate and thought it seemed like a great Fall decorating piece for.....50 CENTS!!

I was about the go to the checkout, but noticed a line at the register, so I did "one more" run through of the glassware aisle and I moved a few things, wondering if I could find more plates like the geese one and I found the pie plate! At $3, that was really more than I was looking to spend, but the "Farm Scene" on it and the brown design just screamed Thanksgiving to me, so I decided I just had to have it, too. Besides, it can be used for decorating AND it can be used for cooking, too!

Now I'm eager for Fall decorating to begin!

I decided to photograph them on the front porch...just seemed like the right place to showcase Fall decor items.
