So happy you two were able to meet IRL, it's so nice to be able to put an actual living face to the sbook.com chatter! Terrific page for your get-together!!
Corky - this is SO fantastic! I love what you did with our photo. I'm definitely inspired to try some of these techniques ... I've got more Lindsey's than I know what to do with. Your Rosette die works beautifully on this!
This is SO gorgeous!! I love all of the texture and colors! So happy you got to meet Pat, and finally use your Magicals! I'm sure you'll be hooked on them now, like I am. Thanks for playing in the August Mixed Media Challenge!
wow!! I love all the textures in your background. They look AMAZING!! And how lucky are you to be able to meet up with a SB.com buddy. The afternoon sounds wonderful and you've showcased the memory PERFECTLY!!
What an incredible layout you created for your meeting with Pat. The background is amazing. I have been staring at it for five minutes and even zooming in on sections. The texturing with the burlap and drywall tape is freaking awesome. Did I mention I really like your page? I DO!!!
Corky, I also had the pleasure of meeting Pat. I will be posting my lo in the morning, not enough lighting tonight. I like what you did on the lo. I was looking at the drywall tape and it look familiar, but could not figure out what it was until I read your journaling.
Pat (GentlewoodFarms) said she would be going to the San Francisco on her vacation so I asked if we could meet up and to my delight she said it would be doable. So we met July 31 at San Francisco's Pier 39. She described what they were wearing and we found Tom and Pat watching the sea lions also known as the "Sea Lebrities" on Pier 39's West Marina.
We walked a bit and settled where we would eat chowder and also had pomegranate margaritas. We were able to sit there not being rushed and had a nice visit. Pat was everything I expected both delightful and gregarious and I told her the one thing I didn't expect was her fancy painted nails given all that she does in her life. They had a tour to get to and we had to fight the crazy traffic back to Fremont. Was tickled that we got to meet and that I have this layout to remind me of the fun time we had.
Was playing with LSG Magicals because I was hoarding them and after watching youtube videos was ready to give them a try. Started with brushing gesso all over the paper and then used the stencil with gesso and when it dried I added the Magicals powder and water and watched it make it's magic and love the results and will play more using this technique. Also used drywall tape, burlap, sequins, Arc C bead mix and cheesecloth. This layout is so special to me and it took me forever to finish so I had to say enough already! lol
